How to be Positive? A Powerful Personal Development Tool

How to be positive? It’s the question of the century!

Many people tell you it’s important to be positive in life. They tell you that your life can improve if you are thinking positively.

activate positivityTruthfully, positive thinking is a powerful personal development tool.

And so you find positive thinking quotes for inspiration.

“I expect a positive outcome.”

“I can achieve my dreams and goals.”

“I am beautiful.”

“I deserve to be loved.”

“I deserve to be healthy and fit.”

You’re on a roll now. Positive thoughts are posted on your fridge, your wall and on your bedroom mirror.

And then those negative depressing thoughts start creeping back in your mind. They haunt you like an old broken record. Repeating themselves over and over again. The worst thing is you recognise these thoughts as the same as the ones you’ve had for many years. How to be positive with these sabotaging thoughts?! Ugh!

I laugh at my thoughts.

Thoughts are not truth. Thoughts are not knowledge.

That’s why I laugh at them, because they are not mine and do not represent who I am or where I’m going in life.

When you think about your thoughts you observe them from a distance and then they have no control over your life. You only become what you think if you engage with your thoughts as truth.

It is important to explore your thoughts. Observe your thoughts as if they were on a movie screen. You know a movie is not real. It’s just a story. Watch the movie in your mind. Witness each thought as they come and go.

Don’t take them as truth. Instead wonder how they will affect your life if you act upon them.

Then choose to think thoughts that make you feel good inside. You know you’re on the right track with your thinking when it makes you feel good about yourself and your life.

Positive quotes are helpful to remind you about what you truly want to create in your life. You can create your own positive quotes by stating how you want your life to be… in a positive sense (leave out the negative phrases such as ‘don’t’, ‘can’t’, etc.).

Choose positive quotes that are uplifting and inspiring. Louise Hay in her book, “You Can Heal Your Life” is an excellent resource for positive quotes.

“I am deeply fulfilled by all that I do.”

“I am in the rhythm and flow of ever-changing life.”

“I create only joyful experiences in my loving world.”

“I love and cherish myself. I am kind and gentle with me. All is well.”

“As I release the past, the new and fresh and vital enter.”

To sum up, how to be positive is a simple technique of: 1. Watch your thoughts, 2. Say STOP to the ones that are negative, 3. Choose positive thoughts to replace the negative thoughts.

I invite you to use the power of positive thinking as your successful personal development tool and improve your life.

Enjoy your new life! 🙂
